About Delphi

This Delphi consensus was conducted to gather and evaluate expert opinions from a global perspective on the specific approaches during the key steps of ART treatment, including follicular development and stimulation with gonadotropins, pituitary suppression, final oocyte maturation triggering and luteal phase support. It was intended to supplement evidence from the ESHRE guidelines by providing a real-world clinical perspective on the specific approaches during the key steps of ART treatment from a diverse group of 35 international experts.

Additional guidance from clinicians on ART strategies could complement guidelines and policies, and may help to further improve treatment outcomes.

The Delphi methodology is a well-established approach of answering a research question through the identification of a consensus view across a panel of experts. It allows for reflection among participants, who are able to nuance and reconsider their opinion based on the anonymized opinions of others [1].

The results were published in an article on Frontiers Endocrinology [2].
